Here's Why you too Should Stay at Mandarin Orchard Singapore

My family booked at the Mandarin Orchard in Singapore for two nights.

Actually, we’ve been to Singapore many times since this is just a few hours flight from Manila.

But since my daughter was so young that she couldn’t remember anything, we decided to stop over from Bali, Indonesia to visit the Universal Studio Singapore and the Night Safari.

1. Location is Superb

Location, location, location!

The location of Mandarin hotel in Singapore is just perfect because you can easily go around from and to the main road of Orchard Road.

The Mandarin Orchard Singapore is about a 20-minute drive from Singapore Changi Airport.

And there are three MRT stations that serve Orchard Road: Orchard MRT is at the northern point, Somerset MRT is at the center and Dhoby Ghaut MRT towards the southern end.

Mandarin Orchard Singapore is within 600 meters from both Orchard MRT Station and Somerset MRT Station.

While the Takashimaya Shopping Centre and Ngee Ann City are 220 meters away.

National Museum of Singapore is 2 km from Mandarin Orchard Singapore, while Singapore Botanic Gardens are 2.8 km from the property.

2. Food Galore District

My family loves to explore all kinds of local dishes whenever we travel.

And if you want a taste of fine dining, there are plenty of restaurants that will treat you right along Orchard Road and nearby Scotts Road.

The Mandarin Orchard offers Michelin starred restaurant the Shisen Hanten so you don’t need to go somewhere else.

There is also Shinji in St Regis Hotel, and the 1 Michelin-starred Crystal Jade Golden Palace, and Din Tai Fung.

For meals on a budget, you can go to the Food Republic Somerset that offers a variety of food stalls for everyone.

The Food Village in Takashimaya offers a nostalgic taste of Singaporean street food.

While the Asian Food Mall at the Lucky Plaza provides delicious food from different Asian countries like the Philippines where do I originate from.

3. Shopping Paradise

Orchard Road is a fantastic place for street fashion enthusiasts and bargain hunters alike.

You can start your retail journey at TANGS. One of Singapore’s oldest department stores at Tang Plaza. It is one of the principal shopping destinations in Singapore.

And if you are looking for budget-friendly malls, then you can go to Lucky Plaza and Far East Plaza.

You’ll also find high fashion labels and boutique stores in Orchard Road like some flagship stores of your favorite international brands, such as Hermes, Omega, Cartier,  Michael Kors, Uniqlo, and so much more!

4. Boundless Entertainment

If you prefer to have more fun with your family, you’ll find plenty of activities like visiting Singapore’s escape room, a 5D escape at the heart of the city.

The Bounce Singapore at game & entertainment center Somerset is an indoor trampoline park, and the laser OPS at the game & entertainment center museum is a laser tag experience.

You can also catch the latest blockbuster at a movie theatre, sing your favorite songs at a karaoke bar or pamper yourself at the numerous spas that sprout the road.

Please note that in light of COVID-19, many places in Singapore made some temporary changes to ensure a fun and safe environment.

5. Mandarin Orchard Singapore Offer Comfort

Mandarin Orchard Singapore is certainly a luxurious and elegant place to stay.

The hotel is really clean, bright, and the bed is comfortable, the towels smell fresh and any room services were quick and prompt.

Check-in was fast and in order.

There is also a spacious work area with USB charging ports by the side of the table. Complimentary WiFi is also provided for in-house guests.

Toilet has two sinks, strong water pressure on their shower, and spacious enough.

I love their Ottoman chair to help you relax after a buzzing day and the view from room 2942 is great. You can see the marina bay sands!

And just across the hotel is the Robinson Department store.

The Mandarin Orchard Singapore is also a five-minute walk from Ion (218 meters into the clouds at ION Sky)

Triple Three

This is where the hotel breakfast is served.

During our stay it was a Chinese New Year Holidays – there was a long queue waiting to be seated for breakfast, so they instructed us to go to Chatterbox where they also serve good breakfast.

Triple Three offers an international buffet featuring fresh sashimi and sushi, live cooking stations, a premium roast section, and varieties of desserts.

Chatterbox

If you are in Singapore, eating “Chicken Rice” must be on your list. Chatterbox is home to the legendary Mandarin Chicken Rice – one of Singapore’s most famous local dishes.

Shisen Hanten

The only Chinese restaurant in Singapore to have been awarded two Michelin stars, Shisen Hanten by Chen Kentaro showcases the flavors of Szechuan cuisine.
