Goals of Life Setting Process That You Should Know

Goals of life – one of the life skills to design your future!  No goals?  No plan? or probably don’t take time to think about it?

If you’ve been following my blog, last week, I broke down the exact steps you need to take how to set up goals, the most efficient and effective way possible. But for some of us, the writing of the new year resolution is the easiest part – we do it all the time!

But when it comes to accomplishing our life or business goals or maybe the financial freedom that most multi-level marketing fishing tactics, that’s where we struggle. (If only they could teach us that in school!)

You must’ve seen last week I’ve covered:

PART 1: Effective Ways How To Set Up Goals
PART 2: Goals of Life Setting Process That You Should Know (you’re reading it now from this series).
Next, PART 3: The Ultimate Smart Action Plan To Organize Your Life

That’s why I think that this tutorial about the goals of life setting process can be of benefit to you.

And, to make things even easier and help you find all the tools, templates, and examples you need to set up and plan your goals, I’ve created the Design Your Year Goal-Setting Kit that you can download right now!

But, without any further ado (because if you’re anything like me, you’ve always wanted to end the chaos in your life!) here are the goals of life setting process to get your life back and attain anything you want in life:

Step 1: Grade yourself

If week after week, month after month, year after year, it’s always the same old story. You may want to grade yourself where you are in life now – grade yourself 1 the lowest grade and 10 the highest (meaning that you’re happy and satisfied).

How satisfied are you in each of these areas?

My general finances is _______.

My general health is _________.

General career is _________.

Relationship/marriage  is ___________.

My general business is ____________.

My general mindset is _____________.

Goal of life Step 2:
Know your current reality

Most people are in denial of their current reality. Take a couple of minutes to exactly know where your reality is because if you don’t, it’s hard to put together a plan where to get next.

This is an opportunity for you to be totally honest with yourself since you will not be sharing this with anyone (unless you choose to). Lying to yourself will NOT help you attain your goals in life.

Several years ago, I looked at this mountain of debt totaling a handsome $17k. When I looked around, I didn’t see anything worth a lot.

Where was all that?

It takes a completely honest look in the mirror to say that – the problem was ME.

Goals of life processor:

Answer these questions:

  • Are you where you want to be in life?
  • How happy are you with your life?
  • Are you heading in the right direction?
  • How satisfied are you with where you are now?
  • What are you doing to do about it?

Step 3: What life chaos do you want to fix?

I know money is not something you want to bring up in a discussion, but money can become a major roadblock that dripping down to all aspects of your goals and life.

If arguing about money becomes the norm in your house or in your marriage life, then this will impact your life goal-setting process because when money is a constant source of tension, it breaks down trust in the relationship as well as the source of many dissatisfactions in life in general.

In addition, it can negatively impact your health, career, mental health, business, and almost anything.  Money problems are painful. So if your finances are in chaos, then the next step is one of the brilliant ways to gain traction to correct it.

Goals of life Step 4:
Know your net worth & lifestyle

When my husband and I took a vow together to pay off our debts (one of our life goals), we solemnly agreed to be on the same page that we’ll not fight about money. We share a joint bank account – we’re two that became one!

Knowing your net worth and lifestyle is important whether you’re single or married because how do you know how much is really enough if you don’t know how much you need to have the kind of lifestyle you’ve ever wanted.

Like for example: If I want to travel to Europe and stay there for 15 days, then I would have a better idea of how much of a vacation I can afford.

Then, I don’t want to go overboard on vacation spending if I don’t have enough emergency funds and keep my savings in tacked because vacations cost money, and taking out a loan to finance one is not a good idea.

So, know your net worth and what kind of lifestyle do you have? I’m giving you my printable template that you can instantly download to gauge your lifestyle and net worth.

Step 5: Know your motivation for sticking with your goal

Answering the “why” for each goal you set helps you stay motivated and encourages you to keep at it even when the going gets tough. Motivation is the reason why you go to the gym to exercise or work late to finish a project. There’s always a reason why you’re doing it.

By knowing what I want – to retire comfortably at the age of 60 (I reached this goal even before I hit my 50’s) to travel the world without debt.

So, before you get into setting specific goals, examine what drives you toward a goal.  Start small by breaking your long-term goals into small-term goals, and then grow from there.

You have to choose one goal, for now, and focus on it completely. Too many people start with too many goals at once, and speaking from my experience – it won’t work like that! One small goal at a time to make this work.

Listen, we all have urges to stop, but…

“Never, never, never, never give up.” – Winston Churchill

Don’t get jealous to see others having the things that you dream about, everyone started somewhere doing a little work each day in attaining their goals.

Final thoughts

If you want to see your goals come into life, the goal you create can’t just be just a dream or in writing without completion. I know some goals, especially the big ones, can feel impossible to attain.

But the truth is you can reach any goal you set (really anything!) —no matter how big it is or how long it will take which is why I’ve created this goal-setting system – Design Your Year Kit in particular so you can move forward and make it happen.

And I hope you took away some actionable tips from this blog post series.
